Online course is now open for enrolment

Calling all birth professionals, pre & post natal specialists, HCPs and antenatal educators

Did you know .....

  • In the UK 1 in 7 couples will experience problems with infertility.

  • In the UK this equates to 3.5 million people every year.

  • Issues with fertility are incredibly stressful, often traumatic, disempowering and taboo.

  • Because of this many people going through difficult fertility journeys seek additional therapeutic support for their emotional health and wellbeing.

  • This maybe because they are struggling to cope with miscarriage and loss, or it maybe because of the stressful, medicalised process of IVF, or it might be because infertility is causing problems in their relationship.

  • Often support is sought for a combination of these factors.

  • Offering support at this particular stage of someone’s perinatal journey can be very rewarding, if hard going at times.

  • The decision to choose conception and parenthood often represents a huge, all encompassing desire, that can become an obsession when that desire if left unfulfilled.

  • Support is then sought to reclaim balance and perspective on life that can so easily be lost during a fertility journey.

Stress and anxiety are very common feelings experienced with any fertility journey.

However many people also describe feelings of

  • Disempowerment & loss of hope
  • Blame and shame about infertility
  • Grief and loss
  • Anger and frustration
  • Obsession
  • Loss of confidence and self esteem
  • Isolation and loneliness

Problems with fertility and conception can take a huge toll on a person's mental and emotional health.

The effects of stress and anxiety on fertility are well known.

However, this knowledge often serves to increase anxiety for those trying to conceive.

There is a lot we can do to support those impacted by issues with fertility

  • We can teach and practice the anxiety toolkit to lower levels of stress and begin to manage anxiety.
  • We can resolve past traumas that keep the mind and body stuck.
  • We can use visualisation and relaxation to communicate fertility powerfully to the body.
  • We can support people with a variety of different outcomes as they move forward.

"'After the second IVF cycle ended in a miscarriage my fear and trauma levels hit the roof. My Prolactin blood tests were so high they thought I needed an MRI, but it was caused by stress. Through her support Alex has been able to help me identify the trauma that was triggering the extreme stress. Her personalised visualisations and relaxation recordings have kept me relaxed and positive and feeling strong enough to go back and try again. With Alex’s help this round of IVF has been a very different experience. It feels like I have a tool bag to reach for when I start to feel overwhelmed or afraid, and I have managed at times to feel excited and hopeful during the process.'"
